Basic ‘general’ guide to the selection of Farrat’s anti vibration materials. These are not meant to be hard and fast rules of selection as individual applications may require alternative solutions but it does provide a reasonable guide to how we would use our materials. As a manufacturer we are able to develop and manufacture bespoke grades of material and sizes of sheet to suit special situations.

Isomat - Neoprene (IMCR)
Low pressure, low natural frequency,
low damping, ideal for shock absorption and vibration isolation.

Isomat - Nitrile (IMBR)
Low pressure, low natural frequency,
medium damping, ideal for shock absorption and vibration isolation. Excellent oil and
chemical resistance.

FAVIM FVM
Low pressure for full area coverage or pads and strips, medium natural frequency vibration

Neoprene / Chloroprene (CR)
Medium to very high pressure, low to medium natural frequency, high performance vibration isolation material with fire retardant and ozone resistant properties.

Nitrile (NBR)
Medium pressure, medium natural frequency, high damping, high performance vibration and shock damping material with excellent chemical resistance properties.

VIDAM (VM)
Medium pressure, medium natural frequency, medium damping, rubber cork general purpose vibration damping material used extensively as an economical vibration isolation solution.

Hamamat (HMCR)
High pressure, high natural frequency, high damping, high stiffness shock, damping and resilient seating neoprene material, particularly suited to high impact or highly loaded applications.

Squaregrip (SG)
High pressure, high natural frequency, high damping, high stiffness shock, vibration damping nitrile material for machinery, equipment and structures needing a stiff vibration damped support with minimum deflection.
