Farrat A2 fire rated structural thermal break material TBF achieves BBA certification.
28th May 2021
Following its launch as the first A2 rated limited combustibility structural thermal break material in 2020, Farrat TBF has now been certified by the BBA, alongside its market-leading TBK & TBL products.
Third-party accreditation and testing have always been central to the material solutions provided by Farrat in all its areas of expertise and specialism. Farrat TBF is no exception to this.
Extensively researched and tested by both BRE and Warrington Fire, Farrat TBF is a structural thermal break material exclusively supplied by Farrat and specifically engineered for use in structural steel connections.
Capable of maintaining structural performance at temperatures in excess of 1000°C, Farrat TBF not only provides superior structural and thermal performance to solve structural thermal bridge issues, but also exceeds all current fire regulatory requirements for buildings above and below 18m.
Designers and engineers can be confident when specifying Structural Thermal Break materials from Farrat that they are safe and structurally sound, for the life of the building.
“We’re incredibly pleased to have concluded the long and rigorous process of BBA certification for Farrat TBF and consider it a key tool of industry in illustrating building product performance validity”, states Chris Lister, Commercial Manager of Structural Thermal Breaks at Farrat.
BBA certification is a mark of quality, safety and reliability that provides reassurance of the product’s fitness-for-purpose. The introduction of BBA certification is part of a continuing programme of product development for Farrat. This latest certification for the product ensures that this technology can meet the ever demanding requirements from specifiers, whilst continuing to lead the Structural Thermal Break plate market.
